LETTER: SEEKING INFORMATION ON LOST DOCUMENTS IN A CAB

Jan 21, 2019 / General / 10:11 pm

You should spend around 20 minutes on this task

You recently used a taxi and left some important documents there. Write a letter to the taxi manager. In your letter, you should say:

  • Describe what you left and where it happened?
  • Why are these papers important?
  • What would you like the manager to do about it?

Write at least 150 words.

You should NOT write any addresses

Start your letter as follows:

Dear ….,

MODEL ANSWER:

Dear Sir,

I am writing to you to seek some information on a journey I made in a vehicle from your fleet from Town Hall to the central railway station on 15 December, 2018.

I was on my way back my home after a presentation at the Town Hall. I remember, I hired your car by around 4 pm. Immediately after entering the taxi; I started reviewing some important documents containing confidential client data. However, when I reached home, I realized I had left some documents inside the cab.

Those documents concern extreme confidential data on a client survey, which was conducted as a part of a yearlong research; and if they fall into the wrong hands, there could be profoundly serious implications for myself and possibly for your firm too. I would therefore suggest you to contact the driver of the cab as soon as possible and make arrangements to locate and return the lost documents.

Your assistance in this matter is of dire importance.

I would be very grateful if you would attend to this matter as soon as possible.

Regards,

Word count: 183

NOTE: It is recommended to organize your ideas in separate paragraphs, so that you could make the presentation more attractive.
